KSA Urges Gaza Ceasefire to Propel Two-State Solution
Addressing participants at the Munich Security Conference, Farhan reiterated the kingdom’s backing for efforts designed to settle the Israeli-Palestinian dispute, emphasizing that Riyadh’s position stems from a determination to secure lasting peace.
He explained that the Gaza Peace Board, formed during the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire and guided by its 20-point framework, must initially guarantee a complete halt to violence before facilitating progress toward the Palestinian people’s right to self-governance.
According to him, the current pause in fighting should serve as an opportunity to reestablish order, support reconstruction efforts, and implement tangible measures leading to Palestinian statehood — which he described as the sole route to enduring stability in the region.
Shifting focus to Syria, Bin Farhan noted that the Syrian administration is adopting a constructive stance toward minority communities and ethnic factions while managing a complex transitional period following prolonged civil conflict.
He underlined that rebuilding initiatives would ultimately be spearheaded by Syrians themselves, with both regional and global partners assuming complementary, supportive roles.
The minister further indicated that a deal with the Syrian Democratic Forces is progressing in a manner that upholds Kurdish rights. He conveyed optimism that sustained advancements by the government would yield wider positive outcomes across the country.
