Palestine, OIC, Arab Group Denounce Israel’s West Bank Measures
A letter outlining Palestine’s position has been circulated to the UN Security Council, the UN secretary-general, and the president of the General Assembly. Mansour also personally briefed the Security Council president and emphasized that the Council must defend international law, including human rights and humanitarian law.
“The Prime Minister of an extreme government is coming to Washington, DC, challenging everyone that he will impose annexation and take Palestinian land. This is a test for whether Netanyahu will succeed or whether we collectively succeed in defending our agreements,” Mansour said.
Türkiye’s UN envoy Ahmet Yildiz, speaking for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), also condemned Israel’s measures, warning they would destabilize the region and undermine the two-state solution. He described Israel’s actions as an attempt to impose unlawful sovereignty, entrench settlements, and enforce a new legal and administrative reality in the occupied West Bank.
Syria’s UN envoy Ibrahim Olabi, representing the Arab Group, echoed the condemnation, calling the measures a flagrant breach of international law.
Collectively, these statements underscore international concern that Israel’s recent moves threaten peace efforts and Palestinian sovereignty, with the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem at the center of the dispute.
