Syrian leader urges for global support to rebuild Syria
During his landmark appearance at the UN General Assembly, which is the first by a Syrian leader since 1967, Sharaa spoke to the globe's president and said “Syria today is rebuilding itself, and as a nation of civilization, it deserves to be a state of law
He said during his speech that lasted under nine minutes that Syria is “writing a new chapter in its story, titled peace, stability, and prosperity.”
The leader voiced gratitude to nations that helped Syria in times of hardship, especially Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, all Arab and Islamic nations, the US, as well as the EU.
Sharaa also promised that Syria would honor the 1974 Disengagement Agreement with Israel and called on the international society to respect Syria's independence as well as border security.
He emphasized “we call on the world to stand with us in the face of these dangers.”
